The 2-of-3 set allows you to backup your bitcoin(24 words) in a permanent, compact, and redundant way. Any two of the three Punchplates can be used to recover your funds should one of the Punchplates be lost or compromised. An attacker would need to brute force the remaining 7 secret words if they were to obtain one of the three parts, giving you an opportunity to recover your funds before they ever have a chance to steal them.
The Punchplate Split phrase 2-of-3 set is made to withstand fire, water, corrosion, theft, misplacement, and crushing so you never have to worry about losing your Bitcoin.

So how does it work?
The numbers across the top correspond to the BIP39 words. The first 4 letters of each word are encoded in a clockwise pattern, starting from the top triangle. The words in the BIP39 word list are unique after 4 characters, only requiring you to have the first 4 letters of each word to recover. Example: you only need to mark "ABIL" for the word "ABILITY".
The Punchplate also has an 8-character "note" section to help you identify the card.
